"XPRESS YA SELF" BY SHEDDY XCEL

When Gospel contemporary artiste, Sheddy XL, hosted the 1st edition of his “Xpress ya sef“ concert last year, little did he know that he’ll be causing quite a stir amongst the younger generation of gospel artistes.

The 2nd edition took place on the 29th April, 2012 and it was an unforgettable event. The impressive audience at the event includes TB1, Viva, Sam Jamz, Psalmos, Nikki Laoye and a host of others. As at 8pm when our crew packed to leave, the party was in full throttle.

PHASE - GIG TIME FELLOWSHIP

Coined out of ‘keeping things in phase with God so that we as Christians are constantly in the center of His will’, “PHASE” (Praise Him And Shout Emmanuel) is an indoor event organized by Gig time fellowship (a non-profit organization) for the working class and their families to gather to praise and worship God in a special way.

The seventh edition which took place at NECA building Alausa, Ikeja on Friday, the 27th of April, 2012, wasa fellowship in every sense.  It was a wonderful opportunity for a large part of the audience who closed from their busy work schedules to be part of a worship experience. Some of the artistes who ministered at the fellowship include Olufunmi and Ambassage.

MOTHERS DAY

It was mothers’ day yesterday and a lot of people took the time to send special messages to their mothers; celebrating and appreciating them for all their love and care. Some said it with cards, some with gift baskets and some even did with flowers (and you thought flowers were just for toasting abi, hahahaha).

One great thing about mommies is that gifts are secondary to the thoughts of love or messages of love they get from their children. Remember how as kids you would cut out and glue pieces of paper engraved with scribbles that resembled chicken scratches and present them to your mother as an I-love-you card? And how she would treasure those crazy gifts just because she loved you and appreciated all the work you must have put into making her a gift? That speaks volumes.

A young lady said to me, “I haven’t spoken to my mother in a very long time and I don’t intend to start now. She was always hypercritical of everything I did and never encouraged me but instead punished me for every little mistake I made”.
My response-: I can’t take away all the hurt you feel but Jesus can.  He commands us to forgive all men their wrongs and honor our parents, which means calling them up to find out how they are doing from time to time. Our parents are humans and must have done what they thought was best in their own judgment; they were probably brought up that same way!

In conclusion, God’s grace is available to help us celebrate at all times. His redemption causes us to rejoice and share this joy with everyone around us.

I celebrate you mothers in the house. Keep up the good work. The next generation of leaders depends on YOU!

Happy Mother’s Day!
